Windows: Lobbies & Other Areas

30. St. Michael & St. Gabriel, by Henry Wynd Young, was installed about 1920  by the Parish in memory of seven members who gave their lives.  St. Michael stands on the left with his sword and crusader’s shield on the left, and the Archangel Gabriel bears a scroll inscribed Deo Judice, meaning God judges.  Showing the war’s dates: 1914-1918, a central lancet displays the shields of America’s allies:  Britain, France, Italy, Belgium, Serbia and Japan.  See our World War I Memorial for more about this memorial.

The Archangels Michael (left) and the Gabriel (right) flank a center panel of escutcheons of the nations involved. The names of 7 members who gave their lives are incised in the wall.

31.  Roundels in the windows of our Parish Hall were given in 1948 by Mrs. Sheldon Eaton Wardwell.
